Ginger Schanks, MA, CCC-SLP
Ginger Lee Schanks graduated from Louisiana State University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree and from Louisiana Tech University with a Master of Arts Degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences. During graduate school, Ginger interned at the Northeast Louisiana School for individuals diagnosed with Intellectual Disabilities ranging from moderate to profound. Following graduation, she has worked in settings to include schools, skilled nursing care, home healthcare, private practice, and rehab hospitals. Ginger holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. In schools, she worked with children exhibiting articulation, language delays, stuttering, voice disorders, autism, and intellectual delays, and in 2003 she earned National Board Certification as an Exceptional Needs Specialist. In 2009, Ginger became certified in Deep Pharyngeal Neuromuscular Stimulation during work with patients exhibiting swallowing difficulties/disorders resulting from neurogenic disorders/events such as stroke, or traumatic brain injury.
Ginger delights in serving and getting to know each client as well as their family as they work together to make good communication a reality.
